Prayer

Matthew 6:25-34**



These last few days have been a little rough. New Zealand is still amazing but I am being bombarded with all these thoughts and worries about home and all the things with the future-when I really feel like I should just be here when I'm here, you know?(When am I going to get the chance to be at a Bible school in NZ again?)


James 4:13-15

"Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend year there, carry on business and make money.' Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say,'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.'"


Psalm 37:3-8, 23-26

" Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret-it leads only to evil...If the Lord delights in a man's way he makes his steps firm; though he stumble he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed."


Galatians 2:20

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The live I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."


1 John 3:16-24

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. Ad we ought to lay down out lives for our brothers .If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set out hears at rest in his presence whenever our hears condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because  we obey his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command; to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us."


2 Corinthians 1:3-4

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and hte God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."


Philippians 4:4-9

" Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving , present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put into practice. and the God of peace will be with you."


**Matthew 6:25-34

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."


I love God with all my heart, I just need to trust him with all my heart too.

    i can't wait for you to be home. coming home from iwu is always incredibly hard for me too...it being such an amazing Christian environment and all. during my transition perod into this summer, i had one sleepless night where i found myself wanting to be home..not iwu home and not menomonee falls home but HOME. in the Father's arms when all doubts or trials or pain is over& i am safe& complete staring at my Savior face to face.
    Take heart sissy:) God encouraged me that night. He blesses me with renewed hope& new purposes each day in this summer home&always! When you get back I want you at least once to come with me to Epikos church with me in downtown milwaukee--it's young& alive&passionate& i'm hoping to get into a small group with some college ppl through it:)
    "because I can't shake this fire deep inside my heart!" God's got cool stuff planned for you back at home:) I'm excited for you! He will prove the same to you as He has done for me:) YAY JESUS!!!
